This recent project uses Marvin’s clad casements and double hung. Below is project information from Vermont Vernacular Design:
Recently we were approached by a client who lived in a beautiful classical home and had made the decision to downsize and simplify their lives. As part of this thought process they realized that as they got older they would prefer to have all of the main living spaces and most importantly the master bedroom, on one level. The house next door became available and was exactly what they were looking for but was terribly out dated and needed to be renovated. Being familiar with the style of homes that Vermont Vernacular Designs produced they approached us to assist with their renovations. The initial plans called for an update to the kitchen and dining room along with an added conservatory with a screened porch. In the end the project included a full renovation of the first floor along with a new mudroom, laundry room and half bath.
The mn custom homes has been working closely with the client, the first floor was completely renovated and simple yet elegant trim detail was added. The exterior was updated with new clapboard siding, metal roof and new windows and doors. Marvin Windows and Doors were chosen for their high performance efficiency and elegant design. The Wineberry clad exterior units were selected to add a bit of color to the monotone grey siding and trim. This helped transform a simple ranch style house into a beautiful home with more classical lines.
