Position Overview:
We are seeking a Window & Door Service Technician to join our team of professionals at our Williston, VT location. If you’re seeking a role where your technical skill, customer focus, and attention to detail make a real impact, you’ll feel right at home at Windows & Doors By Brownell. We’re searching for a Service Technician who can diagnose window and door issues, communicate clearly with customers, and uphold high standards of safety and professionalism. The ideal candidate is reliable, mechanically inclined, experienced with construction, carpentry, installations or related trades, and motivated by both independent work and strong team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately inspect window and door products to find root cause of the service issues, assess damage, replace parts, and ensure proper function.
- Professionally communicate with customers to address concerns, explain issues, ensure satisfaction, provide cost estimates, and explain procedures as you maintain the cleanliness of your work area and follow safety guidelines.
- Daily work includes completing daily assigned field service tasks, working closely with the Lead Service Technician and Service Manager.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year experience installing windows and doors or similar transferable experience in a related field. Technical experience to diagnose issues and define the difference between product and installation issues.
- Proficient using tools such as drills, saws, and levels.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, reliable transportation.
- Pass a pre-employment physical and 4-panel drug test.
- Competitive pay starting at $26.00 per hour with full-time, year-round employment (not seasonal), no weekends.
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a hands-on, skilled Carpenter. If you know your way around a toolbox and enjoy seeing a job well done, keep reading. At our install jobs, windows and doors are replaced, new interior and exterior trim details are created, and occasionally structural changes or repairs are necessary. You don’t need to be a master carpenter, but some carpentry and/or residential remodeling experience is a plus. Most importantly, bring a good attitude and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install high-quality windows and doors, including interior/exterior trims in residential homes within 30 miles of Williston.
- Make sure every installation meets our standards.
- Communication with homeowners and fellow team members.
- Keep the job site clean and safe.
Qualifications:
- Customer friendly and team orientated.
- Basic to intermediate carpentry skills.
- Some experience in home remodeling or construction.
- Know how to safely use various hand and power tools.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Competitive pay starting at $22.00 per hour with full-time, year-round employment (not seasonal), no weekends.
- Requirement to pass a pre-employment physical and 4-panel drug test.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Painter/Stainer to join the Vermont Paint Craftsmen team to paint/stain quality windows, doors, trim, millwork, and cabinetry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively use painting/staining techniques and follow Company processes, work orders, specifications, and plans for high-end residential and commercial projects.
- Accurately apply paints, stains, and finishes using a variety of brushes. Apply caulking, surface coatings, and perform minor cosmetic repairs as well as masking and pre-spray prep.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming as needed to ensure a smooth and clean finish. Disassemble and reassemble building components, including windows, doors, jambs, etc.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work on a team, willingness to learn new skills.
- Able to keep paint shop and tools neat, clean and organized.
- Preferred skills, but willing to train the right candidate:
- Proficient in the use of brushes and spray guns.
- Advanced knowledge of paint/stain types and application techniques.
- Familiar with a variety of wood types, stains, and finishing techniques; knowledgeable about factors that affect product quality outcomes.
- Pass a pre-employment physical and 4-panel drug test.
- Competitive pay starting at $22.00 per hour with full-time, year-round employment (not seasonal), no weekends.
