Field Manager: Installation Services

Job Location: Williston, Vermont

This person will be responsible for day to day field operations in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each installation project. The Superintendent/Manager directly supervises laborers, carpenters, team leaders and occasionally subcontractors. Good communication is critical for success while demonstrating strong leadership, organizational and time management skills.

A team player who establishes effective working relationships with clients and staff to keep projects moving forward. Must have strong communication skills and clarity on project goals.

Possess solid on-site and construction management expertise that can be applied to every job. Possess knowledge and expertise about how to install windows and doors with correct flashing techniques. Strong ability to analyze and determine correct trim and siding details at the job site to estimate materials needed. Ability to keep up to date on new and emerging materials and techniques. Great communicator that manages any job site conflicts or issues that arise. Ability to respond to work delays, emergencies and any problem with a keen ability to balance quality and value for the client.

25% of time spent on job planning and organization

  • The Superintendent motivates and manages the installation teams to provide the highest quality installation services focused on customer satisfaction.
  • Superintendent anticipates the day to day materials and jobsite needs and anticipates long lead time items in the schedule to plan for painting and preparation. Prepare the Installation Team prior to working on the job with a short meeting about job site conditions, a short review of the project scope, and review of important details to remember or watch out for during the project. Superintendent ensures the products, materials and supplies are ready and available to be loaded onto the trucks each morning.
  • Assists the Installation Coordinator in planning the job schedule to ensure schedule takes into account materials available, current work schedules and delivery logistics. Documents the issues that impact the project schedule (or will impact project budget for the client). Communicate effectively with the Installation Coordinator in order to convey any issues with the client. Submit a 2 week schedule weekly with the help of the Installation Coordinator.

25% of time spent on job verification, measuring windows and confirming jobsite specifications

  • Verify accuracy of details found on the Installation Agreements by visiting the jobsites and meeting with the clients prior to the installation date. Identify discrepancies and take the time to communicate the discrepancy with the sales staff that recorded the jobsite details. Confirm jobsite conditions and determine the need for ladders, staging, pump jacks or man lifts.

25% of time spent in the field with installers and miscellaneous materials gathering

  • Understands means and methods of the installation team first hand by routinely assisting to install doors or windows once a week during the busy time of year. Not afraid to be a hands on manager who earns respect from the installation team by displaying a good attitude and willingness to pitch in to get the work done on time with superior quality. Resolve Installation Team member disputes and personnel problems. Approve overtime work requests for the Installation Team and obtain appropriate clearances for approved overtime. Ensure outstanding project safety, subcontractor performance, on-time scheduling, and quality control.

25% of time spent on closing the project, communicating with clients and collecting payments

  • Visit client when the project is complete to obtain client approval on final punch list, financial paperwork, and project completion.
  • Work experience should include supervisory responsibility as a General Foreman or Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or equivalent work experience (minimum 5 years).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and diplomacy skills.
  • OSHA certificate training, Lead certificate training, and Installation Master training a plus but not required

Outside Builder Sales Position:

Job Location: Vermont  – Territory in Chittenden and Addison Counties

We’re looking for a self-motivated person that is ready to become a Marvin Window and Door professional and work with builders on a day to day basis. Outgoing individuals with building materials, interior design or architectural backgrounds are encouraged to apply!

The focus of this position is the development of builder sales in a defined territory. The primary goal is to establish a committed customer base in order to ensure repeat business and long term profitability.

Customer relationship building and providing effective solutions to your customers are keys to long term success in this position. This person will be proactive and responsive to their customer’s needs and will spend 70-80% of their day in the field meeting with builders, homeowners or architects.

Responsibilities: The Outside Sales Rep is responsible to identify and call on businesses that aren’t already part of the WDB customer base. A list of potential customers will be provided, it will then be the Outside Sales Rep’s responsibility to build on that list and identify additional leads through datamining, cold calling, networking, referrals and marketing.

The Outside Sales Rep must become a product expert and should provide customers with both product knowledge and jobsite assistance. It is through this knowledge and expertise that an Outside Sales rep builds repeat business and customer loyalty.

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of WDB services
  • Identify leads, manage prospects, maintain good follow up practices and acquire new business
  • Complete scheduled and cold call prospecting activities to establish first appointments
  • Propose customer solutions that meet their designs and needs
  • Prepare and deliver quoting for projects and follow up with the decision makers
  • Develop and maintain awareness of the market trends in your territory and respond accordingly
  • Regularly meet with the Sales Manager to plan and review weekly activity

Parts & Service Technician:

Job Location: Williston, VT

CThis position involves retail sales focusing on parts and service needs. This individual is primarily responsible for assisting customers in purchasing parts and obtaining warranty parts for their Marvin Windows and Doors.
An important component of this position is supporting our Service and Parts Department by processing warranty claims, maintaining inventory of all standard parts, scheduling appointments and other office based tasks.
This person will also support our Service Department by assisting in the field servicing of the products we sell. This will involve working directly with our Service Technicians or independently at a variety of residential homes or jobsites and commercial projects.

An absolute must, this position requires focusing on customer service. As such, this person will consistently and effectively communicate with all customers in a positive, helpful manner.
