Window Styles and Operations

Awning

Awning windows are hinged at the top and crank out at the bottom. An awning window can be opened during a light rain with minimal exposure to the interior of your home.

Bay Windows

A bay window is traditionally made up of a centered large picture window with a set of smaller windows on either side. The smaller windows are typically double hung or casement windows set at 30, 45, 60 or 90-degree angles to the picture window.

Bow Windows

Bow windows are made up of a number of double hung or casement windows that are mulled together to create a gentle bend or arc.

Casement Windows

Casement windows have a folding crank handle that is used to open and close the window. Strength and durability are what casement windows are most known for.

French casement windows are similar to standard casement windows, but have 2 sash that open out from the center with no obstruction.

Double Hung Windows

A traditional favorite, both sashes of the double hung window slide up and down. The sashes of a double hung window also tilt in for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Glider Windows

A glider has sash that slide horizontally. A glider is a good choice for windows overlooking patios, decks or areas where a swinging sash could be in the way.

Polygon Windows

Unique alone, or striking when used in a window or door combination, polygons come in virtually any shape; octagon, triangle, hexagon…the possibilities are endless.

Round Top Windows

Round tops come in an expansive array of ovals, ellipticals, quarter rounds; virtually any curved shape you can think of.

Tilt Turn Windows

A tilt turn window has two functions. One, it can be turned into the room like a door, and two, the top can be tilted in to allow ventilation and airflow. The same impressive handle works for both functions.

Tilt Pac Windows

Marvin's Tilt Pac sash replacement system is an easy solution to replacing old, drafty double hung windows when the frame and sill of the existing window are in good condition.

Transom Windows

A transom is stationary window, typically rectangular in shape, which is often used in combination with an operating window or door.

Venting Picture Windows

The venting picture window allows for a large, unobstructed view and projects out a full 2.25" to allow for ventilation. A hidden mesh screen around the perimeter lets air in and keeps insects out.
